NMC Nursing Scholarships
The Louise Mullins Scholarship
The Louise Mullins Scholarship is administered through the WellStar Foundation and the Chapter Scholarship Committee.
2011 deadline March 31The application and all associated paperwork must be turned in by the deadline to: the WellStar Foundation Office. For information call Carol Westbrooks 770-956-6677
The Scholarship is awarded annually.
Criteria for the scholarship are:
- Currently enrolled in a professional nursing program and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, you must be one or more of the following:
A NMC Chapter member
An employees of WellStar who resides in the Chapter region
A student at Kennesaw State University (KSU) who lives in the counties of the Chapter region.

Shirley Chastain Scholarship
Application deadline 31 March 2011
The eligibility criteria for the Shirley Chastain Scholarship are:
1. Membership in Northwest Metro Chapter of GNA.
2. Pursuing a Masters or Doctoral Degree in Nursing at a recognized university.All things being equal, those nurses who have been members of District 13 or theNorthwest Metro Chapter for more than 5 years will be given preference.

Shirley Chastain was a very active member of GNA and 13th District (now Northwest Metro Chapter) for 40 plus years. She was always involved in the activities of GNA and our local organization. When she died in 2005 it was decided to set up a memorial scholarship in her honor. Shirley was always interested in encouraging students to pursue education in nursing.

The Georgia Nurses Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization. Donations are deductible.
