About The Northwest Metro Chapter (NMC)

The Northwest Metro Chapter (NMC) serves nurses in the northwest Atlanta metro area living or working in Cobb, Cherokee, Paulding, Douglas, Pickens, and Gilmer counties. NMC is a unit of the North Central Region of the Georgia Nurses Association (GNA). For information about the North Central Region, contact: Debbie Davis - davis107@charter.net
The NMC PurposeThe Northwest Metro Chapter works to foster high standards of nursing, to stimulate and encourage professional development, to promote the economic and general welfare of nurses, and to improve health care delivery.
To fulfill its purpose, the Chapter provides:
- Membership meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every other month from September through May (excluding Dcember). Meetings are held at the WellStar Development Center, unless otherwise notified.
- Communications via newsletters and E-mail updates
- Educational CEU workshops
- Scholarships for local nursing students
- Nurse Week recognition activities
- Legislative activities, including breakfasts with local legislators
